Melodie Young, MSN, RN, A/GNP-C

Melodie Young received a master of science in nursing as an adult/geriatric nurse practitioner with educator emphasis from the University of Texas at Arlington. She currently serves as an adjunct clinical instructor at the University of Texas at Arlington, Graduate School of Nursing and as a nurse practitioner at Modern Dermatology and Modern Research Associates in Dallas, Texas. She is the former director of the Baylor Psoriasis Center and National Psoriasis Tissue Bank.

Ms. Young is a member of the American College of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International, the North Texas Nurse Practitioner’s Association, the Dermatology Nurses’ Association (DNA), and the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF). She is a Past President of DNA and currently serves as the chair of the Nurse Practitioner’s Society of DNA.

Ms. Young has published several articles in the peer-reviewed literature, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatology Nursing, and Dermatologic Therapy. Additionally, she is a member of the editorial board of Dermatology Nursing, as well as Editor of the Literature Review column. Ms. Young served for 6 years on the Medical Advisory Board of the NPF, and was a founding Board member of the International Psoriasis Council. She is a frequent lecturer on topics relating to psoriasis management and therapy.
