Activity Overview
In this activity, an expert panel discusses treatment considerations for patients with moderate to severe psoriasis. The panel reviews various therapeutic options and their risks and benefits, taking into account disease severity, treatment goals, and comorbid conditions of the patient. The panel provides practical guidance on treatment approaches and comments on the available evidence to support decision-making.
Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of dermatologists, dermatology residents and fellows, dermatology nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other health care professionals involved in the care of patients with moderate to severe psoriasis.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the mechanisms of action of traditional and biologic systemic agents and how they relate to potential safety issues
- Implement appropriate baseline screening and ongoing monitoring in patients receiving biologic agents for the treatment of psoriasis
- Develop practical strategies to optimize the treatment of patients with moderate to severe psoriasis across a wide range of real-world clinical scenarios
- Distinguish comorbid conditions that can affect the treatment of patients with moderate to severe psoriasis
