Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Explain the prevalence of psoriasis.
- Identify new thinking on the pathogenesis of psoriasis.
- Describe the immunological basis of psoriasis.
- Discuss quality-of-life issues in patients with psoriasis, including
the economic impact.
- Identify new biologic treatments for psoriasis.
Target Audience
Registered nurses treating patients with moderate to severe psoriasis and related immunologic disorders, and others interested in the care of patients with psoriasis.
Description
In this activity, expert speakers will discuss the revolution in understanding of the pathophysiology of psoriasis. Developments of biologic treatments are offering improved outcomes and quality of life for patients. The speakers will describe new research on immune system function and innovative treatment modalities.
Purpose
Provide the latest information on the immunologic basis of psoriasis and use of new biologics to improve patient outcomes.
