Activity Overview
A 46-year-old male patient with recently diagnosed psoriasis presents to your virtual office, and you—in consultation with Jennifer C. Cather, MD, of Baylor University Medical Center—are reassessing his treatment regimen. Among the issues that you need to consider are comorbid hypertension, obesity, and joint involvement, as well as heavy smoking and alcohol consumption. "Consult" with Dr. Cather and your peers as you manage this patient’s refractory psoriasis and his cardiovascular comorbidities. This activity follows the progression of this case over several months, solicits your clinical input on key aspects of the case, and presents treatment recommendations provided from other clinicians that have “consulted” on this case.

Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of dermatologists and other health care professionals involved in the care of patients with psoriasis.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Recognize and assess cardiovascular risk factors in patients with psoriasis
• Discuss how treatment decisions can influence risk of comorbid disease
• Examine clinical data relating to comorbidities associated with psoriasis and how it translates into everyday clinical practice
